As if they didn't have to prove they're still viable as a commercial and artistic outfit, Underworld's Rick Smith and Karl Hyde faced an additional challenge for A Hundred Days Off-- prove to the dance cognoscenti they could withstand the loss of Darren Emerson, the producer who kick-started the band when he joined in Unfortunately, the results prove only that Emerson most likely did.

A hundred days off is Underworld’s the sixth studio album. Described by Uncut as “a beautiful and baffling enigma”.

Sep 26,  · And "A Hundred Days Off" is no exception. The album starts with "Mo Move", one of my favorite tracks on this album and one of the best available on any Underworld album. Karl's typically echoing and soothing vocals unroll above a building set of short synth bursts and jam-out drums.

Underworld are in many ways the godfathers of techno, and A Hundred Days Off is close to a decade after their seminal debut album Dubnobasswithmyheadman firmly established their presence; they have little left to prove/5(49).

Underworld has come a long way after starting off simple (Underneath The Radar and others) and coming on strong with albums like Everything, Everything; LIVE, Dubnobasswithmyheadman, Second Toughest in the Infants. My take on A Hundred Days Off would be this --> Underworld sort of fell apart in this album for two reasons.
